In connection with the Carlton A v. Carterton match played on December 21, it will be remembered that Hussey, an Auckland representative, played for the former, and was largely responsible for their deoisive victory. Carterton entered a protest to the Association on the grounds of this player not having been a resident of Masterton the required rjeriod (seven days). The matter has been considered by the Association's Committee, and after fully discussing the matter on the motion of a Carlton delegate, it was demded to play the matoh over again at the end of the season, if necessary. An amendment proposed and seconded by the W.F.C.A. delegates that the match be awarded to Carterton was lost. It is understood that the matter will again he considered at the next meeting of the Association. VICTORIA v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA By Telegraph—Press Association. Received January 4, 10.38 p.m. MELBOURNE, Jan. 4. Victoria in their second innings made 256—Armstrong 64, Horan 37, Laver 27. South Australia thus won by 120 runs.
