EGG-LAYING.
THE UTILITY CLUB'S COMPETITION. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 3. The statement for the thirty-fourth week of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's Egg-laying 1 Competi tion at Lincoln College shows that 664 eggs were laid during the week, making a total to date of 22,395. The best totals for the week were: —R. E. M. Evans' Silver Wyandottes, 21; Alexandra Poultry Company's White Plymouth Rocks, 26; R. S. Cox's Buff Orpiugtons, 24; J. H. Shaw's Brown Leghorns, 24; H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes, 24. TJae highest totals to date are:—H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes, 902; J, Mann's White Wyandottes, 805; J. H. Shaw's Brown Leghorns, 750.
