McCurdy) : "That all rates outstandingother than those of the current year, be sued for and that notice of intention to sue in respect of such rates be given during- the month of January in each year."—-Carried. Cr. Guthrie: "That with a view to reducing the running time of the trains between Upper Hutt and Wellington (apart from the rail cars which can only handle a limited number of passengers) the council approach the Railway Department and the Minister of that department to complete the double line between Waterloo and Upper Hutt. That an island station be constructed at Upper Hutt which would obviate passenger trains departing from the loop or sidings." Carried. The next council meeting was set down for Monday, January 18, 1937.
