SILVERSTREAM
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. j Since their last meeting the Silver stream Women's Institute held its annual garden party in the grounds of Mr. and Mrs. F. Castle, Chatsworth Road, Silverstream. The day was perfect, a brilliant herald of summer, and from the grateful shade of the trees guests were able to enjoy it to the full. At the various stalls brisk trade resulted in a very satisfactory balance sheet. During the afternoon the music rendered by the Upper Hutt Band was much appreciated by all. As a new venture, a members' flower show was inaugurated at the regular December meeting and though there were not so many entries in some sections as was hoped, it was felt that the effort would prove to be the forerunner of other bigger shows. A sub-committee was elected to arrange the children's party, which has been postponed till the New Year.
