"THE SCARLET PIMPERNELL."
Howard is seen in the title role of Sir Percy Blakeney, who sacrifices the love of his wife and the respect of London society, by masquerading- as a fop and a fool at home so that he may conduct the dangerous secret activities of the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel, a daring- little band of Regency bloods, pledged to snatch French aristocrats from the Ti-ibunal during- the Reign of Terror. Merle Oberon plays her first starring role as his beautiful French wife, Marguerite, who innocently betrays him to the Tribunal and, through this dreadful deed, learns the truth about her husband and opens the way for a new and deeper love and understanding between them. "THE SKY PARADE." Built around the role which Jimmie has made famous, "The Sky Parade" tells in a succession of thrilling incidents, the inspiring- stor-y of man's true conquest of the air; not merely learningto fly, but the more important angle of bringing* such safety and sureness to flying- that it could be transformed from a stunt used by dare-devils into the dependable, useful force we know it to be to-day. "UNDER TWO FLAGS." Colman is a private in France's Foreign Legion, loved by Miss Colbei-t. She, in turn, has captured the heart of McLaglen, his major. When Colman, who has fled from England to atone for his brother's crime, falls in love with beautiful Rosalind Russell, the tale begins to rise to its peak of dramatic intensity. At an isolated desert outpost, McLaglen attempts to get rid of Colman by sacrificing- him to the revolting Arabs, but recants, and comes to the assistance of the cornered subordinate. The climax arrives, when their entire force faces extinction.
