ANNUAL REPORTS OF FIRE BRIGADES.

The annual report of the Upper Hutt Fire Brigade was read by the Clerk and on the motion of Councillor Greig, seconded by Councillor Purvis, it was received, and the Brigade congratulated on the year's working. The Silverstream Fire Brigade report came in for some comment. The report stated it was over 12 months ago that a decision was come to to move the present building, and it had not been done. The report pointed out that the interest and safety of householders is being seriously affected through not moving the station, and that the brigade had raised sufficient money

to purchase an electric siren to replace the old worn-out cracked bell. On the motion of Councillor Guthrie, seconded by Councillor Blewman, the report was received.
