RUGBY RESULTS. SATURDAY'S -MATCHES.

Junior 17, Karori 0. R. Skerton 2 tries, McGrath 1 try, R. Douglas a potted goal and converted 2 tries. During the match M. Wakelin sustained an injuxy to his jaw. This unfortunately will debar him from playing for some time. Third Grade 7, Marist 0. This game was a good fast game throughout and the home side played a great game, especially in the second half. The following players are worthy of mention, having played a good game: Roy Goodman, J. Paterson, A. Hazelwood, W. Tunnell and H. S. Johnston. The points were scored by W. O'Riley, penalty goal, and W. Tunnell, potted goal. This team, on Saturday's play, looks as if it will be hard to beat. Fourth Grade: Upper Hutt 18 v. Miramar 6. Tries to Bennett (2), Hunt (1), Travevs (3 penalties). The game was played very fast. Bailey played a very good game for his first year at Rugby football; Cattanach played a good hard forward game. Both are keen players. Fifth Grade: Upper Hutt 6, Wellington 12. Upper Hutt, playing one man short, were defeated by Wellington at Kelburn by 12 6. Plummer scored 2 tries for Upper Hutt. The team was: Pearce, Black, Clyma, Good; Humphries, Ingpen; Plummer; Connolly (captain), Forbes, Marsden; Keeble, Leighton, Jillett, Whiteman. A very even game in -which our forwards, although a player short, made an excellent showing. In a very good pack Forbes -was prominent, his locking being of a very high standard. This player is a distinct find and should go a long way in Rugby. Plummer was the most outstanding back, his two tries being well earned. There is no doubt that this player can show most halves how to score when close to the line. His failing is that he very seldom initiates a passing rush —he must learn to realise that he has four other backs outside him waiting for work. Ingpens is to be congratulated on his tackling, and Black showed that he also can bring his man down. It is a pity that more players are not available for this team. There must be plenty of boys in the district who could play. The coach, Mr. Keegan, would be pleased to meet any boys who would care to play at the gymnasium on Friday next at 7.30 p.m. Parents are assured that boys will be well looked after both on gym. night and on Saturdays. So soon as they are available from the mill jerseys and stockings will be s\vpplied. Seventh Grade: Won by default.
