MOTHER'S DAY.

.Day" ..was observed in St. David's Presbyterian Church last Sunday when there were large and interested congregations at the various services. A special service was held in St. David's in the afternoon -when the children of the Sunday School and a good attendance of mothers were present. Mrs. J. Lopdell, of St. Stephen's Church, Lower Hutt, was the principal speaker and delivered an inspiring address on "The Place and Significance of the Mother in . the Home and the Nation." Appropriate hymns were sung and items by the junior scholars under the guidance of Mrs. Withell, were greatly appreciated. Rev. G. W. Hunt addressed the children at the Silverstream service in the afternoon. Arrangements are being made for the observance of Mother's Day at St. Andrew's, Trenthara, next Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
