TRENTHAM WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. MONTHLY REPORT.

The first meeting- this year of the Trentham W.I. was held recently when Mrs. Anderson, President, presided over a small attendance. Before business commenced the following- resolution was moved: "That the Trentham Women's Institute desires to express its

deep sorrow at the death of His Majesty King- George V. and to extend its sympathy to Her Majesty Queen Mary and members of the Royal Family.". This was carried, members standing- in silence. Mrs. Bennett, of Wellington, gave a most interesting; talk and" demonstration of Maori Arts and Crafts. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Bennett, and the president asked her to accept a gift of fruit. Nominations were asked for the new committee and president. The sitting- president is not seeking- re-election." A roll call of useful household hints broug-ht forth some interesting- suggestions!. The Institute's "first" baby has been born. Thanks to Nurse Lomas both mother and babv aie in first class health. A very interesting- afternoon was broug-ht to a close by singing- the National Anthem.
