REPORT OF SILVERSTREAM WOMEN'S INSTITUTE MEETING.

The recent meeting' of the Silverstream Women's Institute presided over by the president, Mrs. Spackman, was well attended. After the sing-ing- of the ode the members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the passing - of His late Majesty King- George V. The president then extended a welsome to Miss Maddevev, members and friends. Business was next attended to and arrangements for the forthcoming' birthday party finalised. Afternoon tea was sewed, after ■which Miss Maddever gave a most interesting: demonstration of beaten pewter work, the members being- keenly interested. A competition for the best homemade basket was won by Mrs. Spackman, first and second, and a special award was given to Mrs. O'Reilly for her excellent entry. The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
