Correspondence.
SUNDAY LTQUOR TRAFFIC. (To tJie Editor.) ,Sir, — Will you oblige me by inserting a few lines in your paper, and I will try to be as brief as possible. I wish to ask, Mr. Editor, if the whisky shops have or have not a proper time to close, and if they are allowed to be open on the Sunday ? Had you taken a walk to the Blue Spur on Sunday last you would have witnessed what to say the least of it was disgraceful. It appears to me there is no particular time for closing the above houses, and it is not very pleasant to have your husband coming home night after night far into the small hours. It is sometimes said there is consolation in not being alone in one's sorrow ; but I cannot say that is any consolation to me. . I cannot help thinking that if there were more Good X^mplars there would be more happy Homes. I hope some of my young sisters contemplating matrimony will also think of the old saying, and " look before they leap." I wish I had a little power for a day ! I would appoint a policeman to watch the doings here. Failing that, I hope this may meet the eyes of those in authority that they may try to check this evil. — I am, &c., A Wipe.
