The writer said he took the liberty of letting the the Chief Commissioner know that the small block of land lately thrown open at the Beaumont was nearly all taken up by Mr R. Lancaster on the dummy system. Mr Lancaster took up 600 acres in block 1., and now he has taken up 600 mote m the last small block. The writer stated that Mr Lancaster " was making a trade of it, and all for Mr. Clarke;" and he hoped the Chief Commissioner would stop this kind of thing, or the people at the Beaumont would soon be blocked up. He had written to the Warden, but it was of no use ; and he had also written to the Board before. If the same thing was to be carried on they would have to write to the General Government to stop the dummy system.
