WASTE LANDS BOARD. (From the " Guardian")
The usual weekly meeting of the Board was held on Wednesday. Present : The Chief Commissioner, Mr. Thomson (in the chair), and Messrs. Reid, Clark,- and Butterworth. minutes. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. APIPICATION TO REFUND. ■Mr. John Ross applied that the money which He had paid on his application to purchase section 14 and 49, block "V. Waifcahuna East district, should be returned. The application was refused. A BAW-MIM. SITE. i Mr. Connell, for Mr. John MTarlane, ap-
plied to lease two acres of block XIII., Glenkenich, as a site far his saw-mill ; -$nd also for permission to erect a tramway. Mr. Neville, of Tapauui, gave evidSndt in tbe case. The Board resolved that the site applied for shoul I form p»rt of tho license already held by the applicant. SHOTOVER DISTRICT. The Board considered the postponed application of Matthew Dwyer for section 122, block 1., and sections 45 to 51, and 60, block 11., and 11, block XXI., Shotover. The sale was approved. A *!tetty site. Mr. Manders applied for a jetty site near the Queenstown Jetty at a place called Rees, the area required being about 100 ft. by 100 ft. at low-water mark. Referred to the Queenstown Corporation for advice. * WAKATIPU BITSH. Messrs. G. H. Smith and Co. " applied for three weeks extension of time to enable them to remove the timber which they had already cut in the Wakatipu bush. Refused. Applicants to be asked why they have not taken out a new license, in accordance with the regulations. APPLICATIONS TO PURCHASE. The following applications to purchase lands held under agricultural leased were approved :—^ C. H. Kliflglt, section 3, block X.. Waitahuna West. W. A. Murray, section 23,b10ek V. Waitahuna East. '' James Taborn, section 4, block V., Tuapeka East. Thomas Treloar, sections 99, 91, and 92, block 1., Tuapeka district. Messrs. Strode and Fraser, section 3, block X., Leaning Rock district. Thomas Riddle, section 5, block X., Tuapeka East. John Sutherland, section 28, block X., Waitahuna East. The application of Johanna Lewis for section 181, block IV., Waipori district, and section 24, block XIV., Tuapeka district, was i cf used. Mr. F. R. Chapman appeared for the applicant. APPLICATIONS TO EXCHANGE.
