Nominations for the Hurdle, Tapanui, and Jockey Club Handicaps must be made to the Secretary at the Commercial Hotel, Tapanui, on or before 8 p.m., on Saturday, 2nd January, 1875. Weights for the Tapanui and Hurdle Handicaps will be declared in the " Guardian" and Tuapjska Times, of the 13th January, 1875. Weights for the Jockey Club and Flying Handicaps will be declared on the night of the first day's racing ; general entries to be made at the Commercial Hotel, on Wednesday, 27th January, before 8 p.m. Dunedin Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers addressed to the Secretary, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description of pedigree and age of horse, and colors to be worn by jockey. A penalty of 2 soys. will be enforced for riding in wrong colors. No person to enter a horse unless he be a subscriber of not less than two guineas to the funds ; and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be subscribers of the same amouut. In the event of any person entering a pro test, the sum of £2 2s. must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered ; this Bum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per cent. • will be deducted from the gross amount of all moneys paid inaccordance with the programme for expenses. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint.
