London, Dec. 15. The editor of the Ultramontane organ, " G-ermania," who is a member of the German Parliament, has been arrested, and sentenced to one years imprisonment, for offences against the -Press laws. The mails from Australia by San Francisco were delivered on 16th. Those via Brindisi j delivered to-day. The transit of Venus was observed very successfully in Egypt, India, Japan, and I Russia. '■ .
