TUAPEKA RACES.
{To the Editor.)
Str, — In reply to my enthusiastic friend "Haricot's" last production, I am glad he acknowledges that there has been a something wrong in the great races, but I am sorry to observe that he throws the blame on the shoulders of others to screen himself. He speaks about the Club being permanently established. If such is the case, it is of very recent date — perhaps only since " Haricot '* has been exalted, and doubtless this would account in some measure for the failure, of the races. Since that period my money has not been recklessly squandered, and is not likely to be. I refer "Haricot" to my last letter, and would inform him that I cannot wac;er that I have spent more money foolishly on the races since they were so badly managed as he has done. I xicrw bid my friend farewell. As the f ransil of Venus is at hand, business calls me away. — I am, &c, . Observer.
" My Dear.'^said a wife to her husband, "do you know "what is the most curious thing in-the world ?" " Yes, madam " gruffly answered the brute, "the most curious thing in the world is a woman that ia not .curious."
