(From our own Correspondent,) Dra-jsDiN, Nov. v 27th. Two inquests were held at the Hospital to-day, one on the body of Robert y°Wg ? who was killed by his, waggon
passing over him in Princes street yesterday ; a verdict of accidental death was returned. The other was cm the body of Henry Makeham found dead in a closet in Wain's Hotel, and a verdict of " Died from apoplexy." was returned. In two hours this morning the whole of the reserved seats for Madame Goddard's first concert at Christchurch, were taken up.
Auckland, Nov. 26th. The Governor's yacht has been sold for £2000, to Owen, Graham and Co. It has been purchased to run in the South Sea Trade.
Nov. 28, 9 45 a.m. Sir James Fergusson left Auckland yesterday morning per Mikado. He was accompanied to the wharf by Sir George Arney and other public men, and the Mayor of the City made a short speech, to which the Governor breifly replied. The Alhambra from Melbourne arrived at Hokitika yesterday afternoon. The news from the Poverty Bay Petroleum Co. is very encouraging. The Manager sunk a shaft for water to a depth of 17 feet and opened an oil spring yielding from 8 to 10 gallons a day.
