( From the Dunedin Dailies. ) Wellington, September 9. So much confidence is felt in the asstirance given by the Government to the Greymouth Harbor Works deputation regarding the operation to be carried out this year at Greymouth, that arrangements are being entered into for the importation from Home of screw colliers specially adapted for the trade. The firm of W. and G. Tnrnbull and Co. has preferred a salvage claim for LIO,OOO against the ship Strathnaver, which was towed in by the Stormbird. It is stated that they were willing to accept Ll,ooo, but that was declined, and now the full claim is made. The matter will be decided by a Court of Law. The "Evening Post" says that the judicial changes referred to in a previous telegram will not be effected till early next year, and that the new Chief Justice and another Judge will have their head-quar-ters in Wellington. Mr. Vogel's family proceeds to England with him.

The doctor of the immigrant ship Oxford has laid various charges against the captain and mate, also regarding the deficient supply of medical comforts and milk. The charges will be investigated by the Immigration Officer. ►September 10th. The New Zealand Insurance Company, at its special meeting, resolved to increase its capital to a million, in a hundred thousand shares, fifty thousand to be allotted to present shareholders, and fifty thousand to be offered to the public, on terms to be announced shortly. The whole of the Waitemata returns are in, and give Mr. Von der Heyde a majority of 53 votes. Christohuroh, September 10th. The New Zealand Insurance Company has taken up the balance of the Christchurch six per cent drainage debentures, amounting to £10,600.
