0 {From our own Correspondent.) Dustedin, August 28. A fatal accident occurred at Deborah Ray tunnel works this morninar. by which a man named Renshaw was killed and two others seriously injured. Renshaw was dryiug some dynamite at a blacksmith's fire, when the compound exploded, killing him instantly. The screams of the other two men when being removed are described as frightful to hear. They are now in the hospital. The Superintendent leaves Wellington by the Phoebe, and will be back on Sunday or Monday. The steamer Bruce, belonging to the Harbor Co., arrived to-day from Glasgow; also, the Corona, a ship, from London. The latter ha 3 been towed up to the Quarantine Ground. The Otago, from London, is at the Heads. The prorogation of Parliament takes place to-morrow or Monday. At last night's sitting a message was received authorising an advance of £00,000 to Otago to assist in the construction of light railways. Mr. Yogel explained that this amount would go either towards the purchase of Otago Provincial railways or as an advance to the Province.
