Monday, August 10th. In the House of Representatives, Mr. Yogel gave notice that he would introduce three resolutions—(l.) That, considering the altered circumstances of the Colony, it is desirable that the Provinces in the North Island should be abolished. (2.) That Wellington should be made the seat of Government. (3.) That the land revenue should be made local revenue, according to what was known as jthe Compact of 1856, and that the Government shall during the recess consider how best to give effect to the resolutions.—(Applause.)
