WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.

Wednesday, 15fch July.

O. B. King v. Thomas Chin Sing. — Complaint of breach of Goldfields Regulations by neglecting to renew water license No. 2468. Mr. M'Coy, for defendant, pleaded guilty, and a fine of ss. in lieu of forfeiture was inflicted, with costs of Court, 11s.

John Anderson v. AkFoo. — Complaint that the defendant underminded the hut of plaintiff ; damages claimed, £10. Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff. As the name of defendant turned out to be Ah Loo and not Ah Poo, the complaint was withdrawn and another laid. Mr. Copland was present for Ah Loo. The following applications for agricultural leases in Waitahuna East were adjourned for survey : — Samuel Dumbloton for section 33, block IV. ; James Drinnan for section 18, block VI. ; David Pa ton for sections 16 and 17, block IV. j and Drinnan for sections 25, block IV.

The applications of Maurice Spillane for an agricultural lease of section 48, block IV., Tuapeka Eas t; of Statious Daniell for sections 8 and 36, block 1., Waitahuna East; and John Blair for section 38, block 1., Waitahuna West, were' granted. The application of John Blair for an agricultural lease of section 38, block 1., Waitahuna West, was refused.

The Otago Gold Mining Company (Registered) applied for a machine site. The Perseverance Company, Morrison and Company, and the Nelson Company objected. Mr. M'Coy appeared for the Perseverance Company, who complained that fclieir outlet -would be lost if the site was granted, and that the course of their tailrace was through the area applied for. After some explanations and discussion, his Worship adjourned the matter to view the ground. M'Nab and others applied for a machine site. Mr. M'Coy for the applicants. Objected to by Hall and party, the Great Extended Company, and the Otago Gold Mining Company. This application was also, after hearing the parties, adjourned to allow the Warden to view the ground. H. L. Squires, as manager of the Golden Point Water Race Company (Registered), made an application for intermission of work of constructing the said race. Granted for 2 months under section 2, regulatiou XII.

John Blair's application for a residence area was granted. Ah Laud's application for a residedce are* on the Wetherstones road was adjourned until the land was sesn by the Warden.
