The non-arrival of the Mikado will detain the Macgregor. She will not now proceed to Auckland, but proceed direct to California with the mails next Saturday. June 30th. Dr. Van Heckerm ha 9 been committed for procuring abortion. Zanco, Beltram, Andromeda, Priam, Stockbridge, and "Wrangler are scratched for the Metropolitan. Brisbane, June 30th. The Inspector of Distilleries reports the produce of sugar for| the past season at 7978 tons, and the estimate for the coming season 10,000 tons. The rum distilled last year 154,000 gallons. CABLE TELEGRAMS. Madbid, June 30th. Details which have been received show that the fighting at Estella resulted in a serious Republican defeat. The loss is estimated at 4000. Many officers were killed. The war material is safe, and the army has returned Le Rin (? Lerida) . Paeis, June 30th. Marshal M'Mahon in a general order issued to-day to the troops, says that, with the army he will, throughout the next seven years, maintain order and authority. Beelin, June 31st. The Bißhops at Fulda have sent proposals to Berlin with the object of becomiug reconciled with the Government. London, July Ist. In the House of Commons, Mr. Butt mado a motion to restore the Irish Parliament, and to deal exclusively with the management of Irish affairs. Dr. Ball, Attorney-General for Ireland, vigorously opposed the proposal, on the ground that it was fraught with danger to England, and would bo utter ruin to Ireland. The discussion has been adjourned till Thursday. The Liberals repudiate Home Rule. The Postmaster-General is arranging with the Peninsular and Oriental Company, with the object of enabling their steamers to pass through the Suez Canal. If carried out, it i 3 expected that a saving of twenty-four hours will be the result. SHIPPING.
