Martin sketched the constitu- j tion of the horne — the institution to consist j of a president, vice-president, trustees, treasurer, committee of management, honorary ] physician, cbaplaiu, secretary, master, and | matron ; the name of the institution to be "The Dunedin Sailors' Home;" the design of \ theinstitution to be to provide a suitable home for the seamen of the mercantile service \ trading to tuis port ; to provide maintenance and a comfortable home for the seamen while . on shore ; no infirm or diseased person to be ] admitted ; subscribers of half-a-guinea to be ent tied to vote at the election of officers ; . owners and masters of ships subscribing , ( clergymen preaching ami collecting, and ( mercantile firms contributing --,to be also entitled to vote.
