KITCHING V. M'CARTHY. {To the Editor.) Sir, — I observe in your issue of the 20th that the inhabitants of Roxburgh purpose raising a defence fund to support me m defending an action brought against mebr Mr. Kitching, of Moa Flat Station. I sincerely thank those whose sympathies an with me, and who have so generously expressed their desire to assist me in so substantial a manner. lam aware that mj resources are totally inadequate to anything like entering into a lingering law suit witk Mr. Kitching. However, I will defend in; property as far as it lies in my power without the aid of the public. lamat a loss to know on what grounds you have published that I accepted £30 as a deposit on the sale of mj place when no such transaction occurred.I am, &c., Michael M'Cartht.
