CLARKS HILL PROSPECTING CO.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — Will you be kind enough to inform me what the Clarks Hill Prospecting Co. an doing at the present time ? I wish you could impress on the manager the desirability oj publishing an account of the work entrusted to his charge. In Victoria, it is usual for thi managers of mining companies, whether oij gold or otherwise, to render an account to tW newspapers as to how many feet have beeq driven or sunk during the week — vidd "Bendigo Advertiser" and other journal^ published on the Australian goldfields. Nod Sir, the publication of similar • information relative to local companies in your papd would be more satisfactory to share holders than the system at present adopted bi the Clarks Hill Co. of keeping shareholders- ii the dark as to the amount of work done. I would almost appear that now the tunnel i through the Gabriels Gully Co.'s ground, th directors of the Clarks Hill Co., the majorit; of whom have an interest in the Gabriel Gully Co., do not intend to further proce« with the prospecting tunnel. Such a pro ceeding would be very unfair to- the share holders not holding au interest in the Gabriel] Gully Cd. For this reason it is quite time i meeting of the shareholders was called t^ determine whether or not the tunnel shoul^ bo proceeded -with. — I am, &c., j - A Dissatisfied Shashkoedeb. j
