THE LATE BAZAAR.
{To tJie Editor.)
Sib. — It ias come to me from more than one quarter, that I am reported to be the author of some of those letters that have appeared in your journal on the Church of England Bazaar. I have been spoken of intermeddling, with matters with which I had no business. Well the parties who have passed this judgment upon me ought to have been sure of their ground before passing .such a judgment. I wrote not a line of any one of those letters, and what is more know nothing whatever of the writers. But I write- not this to purge myself from the suspicion of condemning the practices pursued at the Bazaar. I do not approve of them, but hitherto have only . confined myself to the expression of opinion when it has come in my ■way. But surely we have not arrived at that stage of intolerance that it is a crime to differ in judgment on such matters or to express that judgment. lam not ashamed of my views'" on the subject and have no objection to state them when i ailed upon. Meanwhile I- leave the public to digest the letters they have already got. — I am, &c. , , . J. Menzies.
