TUAPEKA BOARD OF WARDENS.

A meeting of the Tuapeka Board of Wardens was held at the Victoria, Hotel, Laurence, on lhursclay the 26th. March, 1874. All of the members were present. The pervious minutes were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Secretary of the Board of Wardens VVaitahuna, in reply to one from the Tuapeka Hoard, asking the opinion of that body as to the appointment of a ranger for the districts of Tuapeka, Waipori, and Waitahuna, and concurring in. that view The Chairman was directed to- reply thereto, stating that as no reply had been received from Waipori nothing could be done in tha meantime. He was also directed to again write to the Waipori Board, and enclose a copy of the letter before alluded to. After receiving a report from the Chairman and Mr M'Combe as to the advisability of allowing any pan of the commonage to bo fenced in by private parties the Hoard un1 animoaly decided not to grant any such applications. The report stated that the area of commonage being already so limited in extent it would be unadvuable to allow any portion to be fenced off from public use and the chairman was directed \o write to Messrs M'Donald and JNlathesotf to that-4t effect. The chairman and Mr. M' flattie were delegated to arrange with the Waipori and VVaitahuna Boards as to the appointment of a ranger for the three Districts. The Chairman was directed to writa to Mr. Power, the Inspector, complaining of the nuisances caused by pigs and goats straying on the commonage. The previous minute as to four members of the Board lieing necessary to form aquorum was rescinded, and three substituted in, lieu thereof. It was arranged by the Board that the chairman call the next meeting of the Board when required. The meeting then adjourned.
