GOOD TEMPLARISM.

{To the Editor.) Sib, — The Good Templars of Lawrence are doing a great and good work, and no one can fail to observe the change for tho better that is taking place. Some of our most intelligent citizens are looking very much better in body, their conversation is of a much more cheerful description than it used to be, and they are clothed more decently and becoming than before they enlisted in the ranks of tlte Good Templars. Templarism is indeed a healthy plant, and the climate of Tuapeka is evidently a congenial one for it. So good 13 the soil and climate for thi3 plant that it has already begun to blossom, and if it is properly nourished during the summer, and is kept warm and cared for in the winter, the fruit ■« ill be found in great abundance next summer, to the joy and rejoicing of many hearts. I observe that your Oainaru correspondent thinks 1 should not write vinclcr a borrowed name, but that my everyday name should be written in letters of gold, &c. I prefer not to have my name dragged all over tho colony in every newspaper. A good name is worth sticking to, and I intend stiekiug to mine ; but I believe Good Templarism is bound to do a world of good, and sooner or later to bring about a state of things such as I hinted at in my previous letter. Therefore, I wish the cause every success. My belief is that sobriety and integrity, combined with industi*y, are sufficient to make a nation both independent at home and honored abroad ; and to this end' Good Templarisrn is assisting. — I am, &c, Limited Liability.
