The usual monthly meeting of the Com* 1 niittee of Management of the above institu^B tion was held in the Commercial Hof"\.'<j^B Tuesday evening. Present * MessrF^^^ij^^B (in the chair), Ferguson, Hill, JQffery/^^^^B strong, Hil's, Kofoed, and Hayes '(Secrel^^^H The minutes of previous meeting werej^^^f and confirmed. The following correspondence was re^B Letter from Mrs. Dev^es and Mrs Oook, I enclosing £34 145. M Letter from T. W. Bruce, Esq., of Orma- J glade Station, enclosing £5, and stating thafc^ he would forward his subscription list when ■ he haa collected from, the- shearers and the I surrounding settlers. 1 Letter from- Mr. Cumaaings, Beaumont /I Ferry, stating, that a, number of people in f *a that district were complaining of the paid .1 collector being allowed 10 per cent. jl Letter from Messrs. Cargill and Anderson,'* Tevic-t Station, enclosing cheque for £8 153. ■ Letter from Dr. E.. Halley, President, 1 relative to the fixing of an Hospital Sunday m by the Committee. It was resolved that a ■ communication be forwarded to the variou/ I clergymen of the different denominations^! recommending them to fix upon any J3imdaw« that might best suit them. [ m The Rssivlent Surgeon's- report was laid oiiw the table. There were 10 patients admitted! during tbe month — only one of whom was ol paying patient. - S The Secretary was instructed to write to afl certain person who was for some time in the^ Hospital, enclosing an account for extras sup- M plied him while there. _ The tender box was then opened and the X following tenders dealt with : — Beef and "^ mutton, Win. Draper, 3d., per lb. all round. - Being the only tender ; it was accepted.: Wood-^ and coal, Greorge Thompson '• coal, 17a. 6d3 pea ton ; firewood, £2 13s. per cord. Being 3 the only tender, it was accepted. Milk, David/jf Herd, 4d. per" quart. Being the only tender,^ it was accepted. Bread, James Harris, 7d. pe^s" 41b. loaf ; J.M. Clarke, W. ditto. J. Harris 1 having been lately supplying the institution / with bread, his tender was accepted. Groceries.^ Thomas Arthur, F. Meyer and Co., and James^; Harris. T. Arthur's tender being the lowest^ average prices was accepted. A ;, The question of the tender for drugs was then brought up for consideration, but as Mr.y, Jeffery had not been supplied with a list of^ the articles for. which to tender, he had nob-} lodged a tender. The matter was delayed tilt';! Saturday (to-day), and the meeting adjoom^il till then to decide this tender. -;{ There was no other business. js
