A COMPLAINT.
(To the Editor.) Sir, — The cattle at TTaitahuna are hungry for the want of food, which is monopolised by sheep. Tho sheep come into our gardens. Are the wardens interested in the sheep ? If not, are they doing their duty ? We, cattle owners, pay 33. 6d. per head. From Mount Stuart to the boundary of Run No. 52, there is not as miuli grass as would keep half-a-dozen hares. We pay 2e. 6d. per acre for our leases. Taxation should give us some privileges. Bufc if we don't pay assessment, the law pounces on us. I will not pay until I get grass. — I am, &c, Waitahuna. [If our correspondent is sincere, why did not he sign his name, and submit it, in confidence to the editor ?]
