Police v. Heritage. — For allowing his horse to wander, defendant was fine.l 108. and costs of Court, 6s 6d.

Police v. Gardner. — Mr. Henderson for defendant. Defendant is a licensed hotelkeeper at Manuka Creek, and was charged with supplying spirituous liquors on Sunday. Defendant was also charged with supph ing spirituous liquors to two persons, who were in a state of intoxication. Defendant pleaded guilty to both charges, and the evidence sustained the accusation in both cases. For the offence of selling spirituous liquors on Sunc.ay, defendant was fined 40s ; costs of Court, 6s 6cl ; and witnesses' expenses, 255. For the second offence oi' supplying intoxicating liquors tp two intoxicated persons, defendant was fined 20s ; and costs of Court, 6s 6d ; witnesses' expenses, 255.

Lancaster v. Jloaeywill. — Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff. Plaiutiif is a settler at the Beaumont ; defendant a medical practitioner. No appearance of defendant. This was an action to recover the sum of £91 on a promissory note. Judgment by default for amount? claimed, with coats of Court, and professional costs, 21s. JRouflhan v. Michael. — Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff ; Mr. Henderson for defendant. Plainfciif impounded defendant's cattle, there by compelling defendant to pay poundage amounting to £4 17s, which defendant sought to recover on the ground that plaintiff's land, on which plaintiff's cattle were alleged to have illegally trespassed, was not, on the date of the alleged trespess aud on previous dates, fenced with cattle-proof fences, there being gaps in v the fences which woidd easily admit two beasts abreast. Judgment 'for £5 7s ; costs of Court, £1 2s ; expenses of witnesses, £1 10s ; and professional costs. .-61 la.
