TRINITY CHURCH, LAWRENCE.

At a special meeting of the Church Wardens held on the 19th inst., the following letter was submitted for consideration :—: — "Lawrence, October Ufch, 18?9. "Bey. Mr. Beaumont. " Dear Sir, — 'Having seen the good resulting from the Hospital Sundays in England and the colonies, I have thought that a similar movement might be very beneficial to our .local hospital, which stands much in need of funds. I have addressed a similar letter to the clergy of other denominations, and would wish your opinion and aid in this matter. — Yours respectfully, "E. H. Hailey, " President T.G. Hospital." It was resolved, " That the Vestry willingly accede to the request conveyed in Dr. Halley's letter to the Rev. Mr. Beaumont for co-opera-tion in a simultaneous collection (as mado in England and the colonies) in all the Lawrence churches on beha!fof the Tuapeka Goldfields Hospital." The Rev, J. Jones' application for aid in behalf of- tho Cromwell Church of England Building Fund was also considered, 'and it was resolved, " That the request of the Rev. Mr. Jones, to give the offertories for one Sunday towards the erection of the church at Cromwell, be acceded to."
