Mb. G/EOEGE Waliceb, Ross Place, Lawrence, gives the following as the latest quotations in Tuapeka : — Oats — From 4s- 6d to. 4s 8d per bushtl wholesale ; 5s retail. Chaff — £5 10s per ton wholesale ; £6 retail. Hay— £4 loa per ton. Bran — £5 10s per ton wholesale ; £6 10s retail. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 15th November, as f ollowb :—: — Fat Cattle. — A rather large supply of 128 head came forward, but hist week's rates were fully maintained- We sold on account of Messrs Maitland Bros, and others, 35 head, mostly prime quality, which brought from 30s to 33s per 1001 b. 'We also sold 2 extra fine bullocks, bred and fattened by Messrs Findlay Bros. Mosgiel, for 1/22 10s and L 25. We quote prime quality, 30s to 33s per 1001 b ; medium ditto, 265. Fat Sheep. — 500 were penned, which we sold as follows : 200 half -breds (shorn) at 12s; 300 ditto in wool at 18s 6d to 18s 9d. We sold privately 850 cross-breds at 4d per lb. We quote prime half-breds in wool 4d per lb; ditto shorn 2£d ; merinoes in avool 3£d. Fat Lambs.— -66 were penned and sold, at from lls to 13s 6d each. Store Cattle. — There is a good demand for grown bullocks. We quote bullocks, 3to 5 years, £4 15s to £5 ss ; spayed cows, £3 5s to £3 10s ; mixed lots, 45s to 555. Store Sheep. — We have enquiries for halfbreds and merino wethers, but as shearing is now pretty general, very few are offering. We quote shorn half -breds 7 s 6d to 8s ; do. merinos, ss. Horses. — There is an excellent demand for good heavy draughts and strong upstanding saddle and light harness horses. We sold at our yards on account of Mr. James G-lasson, 30 draught mares and geldings, ex Oineo, from Melbourne. They met T^ith keen competition, and were all cleared at satisfactory prices, bringing as they did, £38 to £72 each. We also sold 20 saddle and light harness horses, Provincial bred, at from £12 to £22. We quote first class draughts £60 to £70 ; medium do. £35 to £40 ; good hacks and light harness horses, £20 to £27 ; medium do. &14 to £17 ; Ught and inferior, £6 to £8. _ Sheepskins^ — At our sale on Wednesday we disposed of a considerable number, as follows: — Green balf-breils, 68 6J to 6s 8d; do. merinos, 5s Id to 5s 3d ; dry half-breds, 2s to 6s 8d ; do merinos, 2s 2A to 5s 2d. Hides, — A few medium weights realised 16a to 19s each. Grain. — Wheat is in but moderate demand tft 5s 3d to 5s 4d for first-class samples. Oats are in fair enquiry at 4s to 4s 2d per bushel for good feed, and 4s 3d to 4s 4d for milling qualities*
