THE ATHENAEUM AND THE TOWN COUNCIL.
(To tlic Editor.) ■ Skb, — I see by the " Bruce Herald" of last week that ths Milton. Town Council have liberally subscribed the sum, of £l(X towards the Milton Athenaeum and public library. What has the Town Council done towards our . Athenaeum ?• On referring to members of Committee of the institutipn, I find that not only has, the Council declined to. subscribe, but have absoluely refused to pay a paltry halfguinea for the upe of the Athenseum Hall after using ijb as a, booth for the Municipal election. As there will pr.obably be another election, shortly,
Athenseum Committee, in order that they may take steps in time to ensure payment not only for this election but for previous elections which the Town Council have declined to pay. — I am, &c, ' Hope.
