Sir, —Will you oblige me by re-pub-lishing the enclosed extract from the " Daily Times " :—": —" Mr. Bastings explained that when once before Mr. Pyke left tho Government service" he received retiring allowance, butt that when he re-entered the Govejjntnont service, he repaid the money to the Government.
