(From the " Morning Star.") Paris, June 6. France is abolishing the tax on foreign shipping. A circular, addressed by the Due de Broglie to the representatives of the nation abroad, declares that the Home policy of the Government will be moderate, and the Foreign policy of a pacific character. The revolutionary party will be vigorously opposed, but without bringing about a reaction or attacking any existing institutions. Jt would be left to the Assembly to decide the future form of the Government. Prince Napoleon has arrived at Paris. The Bonapartists are dissatisfied. June 7. The Bank of France paid to Government on Thursday fifty million francs in gold, being the first instalment of the promised advance of two hundred million francs. The remaining three instalments are payable on the fifth of July, August, and September. June 9. General Chanzy has been appointed Governor of Algiers. Count Arniin, Ambassador of Germany at the French Court, presented new credentials to President M'Mahon. June 10. Prince Napoleon and M'Mahon have exchanged visits. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr. Macarthur, member for Lambeth, moved a resolution having for its object the protectorate and annexation of Fiji. Sir Charles Wingfield, whilst denouncing the existing Government of Fiji, insisted on annexation as the only means of preventing the slave traye. Mr. Gladstone defended the Fijian authorities, and spoke approvingly of ex-Consul March. He declared that England did not require any extension of territory, but admitted the necessity of some forward step. Captain Goodenough, the new commodore of the Australian station, acting as Consul Layard's deputy, his been ordered to institute enquiries on the spot. The motion was lost by 86 to 50. The Tichborne trial is proceeding. Already 112 witnesses have been examined. Ten testify to Roger Tichborne having been tatooed, and thirty-nine identify the claimant as Arthur Orton. Twenty-two officers of Carbineers repudiate the claimant as having ever belonged to the regiment. June 15. The rule nisi obtained against Mr. PUmsoll, M.P. has been discharged, the Judges at the same time censuring him for making hasty statements. Queenscliffb, June 19. London, June 18. The Admirality Court at Cadiz has released the crew of the steamer Murrillo, accused of sinking the Northfleet off Dungeness. The captain's certificate was suspended for a year, for collision with an unknown ship, and rendering no asaistI ance.
