' Sir. — I was surprised to see in your "eport of the Mt. Benger election neeting, a statement to the effect ' that I would support Mr. Beighton 'in his candidature." Permit me to jive an unqualified denial to this statement. I distinctly said at tho neeting that I neither promised nor vould support Mr. Beighton. — I am, fee, J. Mackay. Boxburgh. 12th June.
