MOUNT BENGER ELECTION.

NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES.

The nomination of candidates for the Mount Benger district took place at Switzers, on Monday. From the number of candidates proposed, and the excitement generally throughout the district, we believe the election will be very keenly contested. The following are the nominations :—: — James Ben Bradshaw, proposed by Mr. Wilkie, seconded by Mr. Shaw. John Beighten, proposed by Mr. Skene, seconded by Mr. A. Birch. Charles Nicholson, proposed by Mr. H. N. Simson, seconded by Mr. King. George Ireland, proposed by Mr. W. J. Braithwaite, seconded by Mr. J. F. Dean. Mr. Nicholson had the show of hands.
