WARDENS' COURT, LAWRENCE.
Monday, Juice 4. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Mr. Pyke, tho retiring Warden, introduced Mr. Carew to the Bar. Mr. Copland, as senior member of the Bar, welcomed Mr. Carew to tho Bench ; and Mr. Mouat, as junior, thanked Mr. Pyke on his retirement from the position as Warden and R.M., for hia courtesy and general mode of conducting the business of the Court. Agricultural lease applied for by Samuel Anderson, wae, adjourned for one month, to enable the survey to be completed. Robert Cowie's application for an agricultural lease was granted. Varcoes and others for a head-race, was adjourned to next Wednesday. James Thompson's application for lease of sec. 19, block 4, Waitahuna, was. a<l j'»umed for one month. George Jeffery, Henry Vye, John M' Mullen and John Tuckey, applieft for leases of land in block 10. Postponed for one month. A. Hog^ applied for the loase of sac. 40, block 2, Tuapeka east. The application was objected^to by Thomas ßrunton, he having previously applied for it. Mr. Adams stated the land would probably be required for- rail way'|purposes, and- the application was refused on this account.
