TABLE HILL.

(From our own Correspondent.)

1 had nothing of importance to communicate to yon for the last few weeks, as everything was doll, but now there is a bettor time come. The Oxford claim is turning out better than any of the claims on the hill, and Mr. Higghu is pushing on the work, in a more spirited way. He is putting on more men daily, and is about to start stoping this week. The level is now driven about 200 feet, and shows a splendid face of stone, about 7 feet wide. He washed, up the week before last, which resulted in a cake of gold weighing 40 ounces. The owners of the jumped ground, known now as Dyer & Co. 'a claim, have got their whim created, and intend to commence operations to-day, which will give more employment to men on -this place The Alexandra Company are having their head and tail raoe cut. They employ only one man on the works, and no sign of any machine is as yet on the ground. The Ocean View Co. are sinking and slabbing a shaft Bx3| feet with centre*. They are now down a depth of 50 feet, and intend to go at least 200 feet. A meeting of the committee of the Miners Association took place here last Saturday, for the purpose of electing a delegate to represent them at the Conference to be held on the 2nd December, in Lawrence, and to discuss others matters connected therewith. - 1 understand Mr. "Win. Grey is to be our .representative.

Since my last, we were favored with a visit from Mr Dunn, local preacher of Waitahuna, and the Rev. Mr. Arnobfc, of the same place. There was a large attendance of persons at their services, which show they are appreciated.
