Alining matters on the Spur axe not in any way brisk, the surveyors and photugraphers being about the best employed, preparing plans and photographs for the impending case between the Perseverance Co. and Morrison and Co. We have plenty water of at present, but the present dry weather will soon shorten the supply. It is rather encouraging to sue that the continual disputes and litigation does not effect |tbe value of shares, as 50 scrip in the Great Extended Co. changed hands the other day for L 24 per scrip, which is an increase on any former sale. Messrs. Hales and Co. and the Otago Co. are driving. IMost of the companies are preparing for a wash-up against Christinas.

At a meeting of the Mining Association last week, Mr. W. D. Morrison was ui> animously chosen to represent theTnapeka district at the meeting of Delegates to be held about the 2nd prox. The Gabriels Co.'s machine has been kept steadily going all last week till Saturday evening, when a pinion wheel gave way, which will cause a few days delay. With the exception of a trial trip of one of the trucks, on its own account, down the incline to the machine, everything is feoing on satisfactorily, and the prospeetow* more than ever satisfied with their prospects,

The Great Amalgamated Prospecting Co. are sinking a shaft in Caledonian Gully. It is reported they have got favorable propecta ; if bo, it will greatly stimulate the other Companies.
