Young Emperor is by Emperor, out of an' imported Clydesdale mare, the property of James Patterson, "Esq., M.L.C., Lovell r s Flat. He' is a bright dapple bay, • rising live years old, 16^ hands high, is perfectly. quiet, has fine action, superior bone, and great muscular power ; and took the first prize at the Tokomairiro Show as a year'ing. - Emperor, the sire of Young Emperor, is out of Nancy, bred by Alexander Findlay, Esq., Sandyhills, near Glasgow. Nancy was got by the celebrated, Gar vary - Horse, and her dam by Scotsman, the property of James Kirkwoods, Kilniaurs. Nancy was firsb shown as a three year raid, and got first prize at Hamilton, first at liiiilleston, second at Glasgow, and second at Kilbricle. She was next shown as a brood mare at Glasgow and Kilbride, where she received similar honors. His sire is the well known imported horse Napoleon, whose Stock is not excelled in the province. Emperor is of great strength, and compactly built. He has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his Stock is of a superior description. Emperor was shown at Dunedin when a two-year-old, when he received second prize as the best horse of any age, his 3ire being first ; and first prize for the best two-year-old. He has also been shown at Oamaru and West Taieri, and each time a successful competitor. Terms, L 3 ; Groornage, os. Groom's Fee payable at first service, and all demands payable to the Groom on or before the Ist February, 1873, when the season ends, after which LI extra will be charged. His sire Sir Walter Scott, gained the first prize at the Highland Agricultural Society Shew at Dumfries in 1860 ; the first prize in Glasgow in 18G1 ; and at Battersea in 1862. His dam J\la«yy also gained tho first prizs as a 3-year old at the Highland Society Show ; the second prize among the best draught mares in 1862 ; and the first prize as a brood mare in 1863? ■Terms, L 5 ss.
