WAIPORT MINERS' ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Committee of the Waipori Miners' Association was held on November 2nd. Present : Messrs. S. Caudwell (Chairman), W. Caudwell, M. Blackmore, T. Butterworth, A. Ross, S. Ellis, and W. M'Kean (Secretary.)
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
A large amount of correspondence was received and disposed of.
The following accounts were passed for payment : — Stationery, ss. 6d. ; "Otago Witness," £1 6s; Tuapeka
Times, £1 6s.
Several miners paid their subscriptions and had their names added to the list of members of the Association. The meeting then proceeded to elect a delegate to represent the Waipori Miners Association at the forthcoming Conference to be held at Tuapeka. It was proposed by Mr. Caudwell, seconded by G. M. Blackmore and carried unanimously, that Mr Wm. M'Kean be appointed as delegate from the committee.
When the committee had got through all the other business, tl.e Chairman appointed the 30th November for a special meeting to draw up instructions for the guidance of the delegate. The proceedings then terminated.
