TUAPEKA JOCKEY CLUB.

The minutes of the last public meeting were read-aud confirmed'

The' financial statement, showingrecsipts a'mountihg to '£s4B 6a 3d., and' expenditure of £529 155., particulars of which appear in another column, w<w read #nd adopted.

A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to the present and retiring Committee.

Dr. Stewart was ve-iippoii»ted Chairman. A number of gentlemen enrolled themselves as subscribers, and the election of a Committee was proceeded with. The following gentlemen were elected : — Messrs. Bastings, Farrer, Herbert, Stewart, Williams, M'Lean; Sheath, HilU, Arbuckle, Armstrong, Downes, and Hay.

A meeting of committee was then held, and the following office bearers were elected : — President, Dr. Stewart ; Vice President, Mr. Sheath, ;hon. Treasurer, Mr. Farrer : Auditors, Messrs Ferguson and Ilarrop ; Secretary Mr. Hayes ; Trustees, Messrs Farrer, Williams, and Bastings. It was resolved that the number of stewards should be eight, out of which the judge should be appointed. The following gentlemen were appointed stewards : — Messsrs Bastings, Sheath, Farrer, J. F. Herbert, M'Lean, Hay and Downes.

Mr, Bastings was appointed judge, Mr. M'Lean -clerk of the course ; and Messrs Sheath, Farrer and Dr. Stewart, handicappers. The committee then adjourned.
