We notice that a great parade is made in several of the Pecksniffian journals published in New Zealand relative to the cost of the Hon. Mr Vpgel's mission to England, and the cost of his travelling expenses". Being very fond of' comparison, we place before the public the respective amounts the two last missions to England, for the purpose of negotiating loans, have cost the Colony: — Mr Fitzhekbert's Mr Vogel's Mission. Mission. £ £ ' Travelling ex- " Travelling expnses ~- , 2113 p?nses - - 23,68 Ministerial sa- Ministerial sa* lary for 18 lary for eight months - 1500 months - 667 Voted by the Voted by the House for ser- House for services - - 3000 vices - - Abuse iGGW £3035 Thus showing a saving of L 3,077, and the prosperity of the Colony revived, through Mr Vogel's mission.
