DUNSTAN SPRING MEET.
The annual spring meet of the Dunstan Jockey Club took place on Friday and Saturday, the 20th and 2 1st ult. The weather was fine ; and, with the exception of a few delays, caused by unforseen circumstances, everything passed off satisfactorily. The attendance of spectators was exceedingly goo J, in fact, larger than was anticipated. The following are the events and their results :: — •

A physician "lately recommended A patient to " run dowu"-tho street every day for the benefit of his health — but the sick man couldn't .see it ; he said it was an excellent street, and he didn't like to injure its reputation. Blue-eyed lassie of four summers : " Uncle, hae ye been gettin' yer head clippit?" Uncle: "Aye." Lassie: '' Hoo muckle did ye pay fort ?" Uncle : "Sixpence."
