BLUE SPUE.

(From our Mining Correspondent.)

Water on the Spur is plentiful, and all the claims are in full work, and it is hoped good yields will be the result, as from ail appearances the legal profession is booked for good dividends for some time. It is most unfortunate that we cannot keep clear of law, and it is strange that men who are most niggardly in other respects are the lawyers' best customers ; at all events the poor old cow will be milked well this time, as there are nothing but actions and counter-actions pending, with fabulous amounts of damages, which will almost look like romancing to say anything about yet. On the reefs, the prospectors are getting on Bteadily with the machinery. The Amalgamated on the south side have started to prepare for driving. On the north end Messrs. Clayton are sinking a shaft. The North Amalgamated Co. are likewise preparing to prospect their ground. A meeting of the above company was held the other night, when it was agreed to divide the company into fifty shares, which no doubt will be soon all taken up. The Blue Spur Private Quadrille Club wound-up their winter season with a grand ball and supper, in Mr. Hinde's new Assembly Room. There was a ver7 large gathering, and all present seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly.
