July 19.

A topsail schooner, supposed, to be the Jane Anderson, from Havclock, arrived and passed up to J unedin this forenoon. Owing to .the heavy easterly sea on the coast, the Beautiful Star, for Timaru, and the Geelong, for Oamaru, have been further postponed tilt tp-mbrrow. The following telegram, received by Capt. Thomson, the harbor master, has been j kindly handed to us for publication :— The brig Our Hope parted one cable and drove in abreast of . tne Gap at Oaraaru. She cannot work out to sea now, being too close inshore, and it is doubtful if she will ride <*ut fhe gale with only one anchor. The s.B. Wellington, due from Lyttelton, had not arrived at four o'clock this afternoon. The weather being intensely thick, she will probably keep off and on until it becomes clearer.
