The former vessel was reported to be anchored at the Heads this morning The Kangatira left Auckland on July 29, at 2 p.m ; arrived at Taurauga at 7 ;\tn.; left the same day at 2 p.m.; arrived at Poverty Bay at 3 p.m. on the 4th ; left at ninlnSght, and arrived at Napier at 11 a.m. on the stn ; left at 4 p m. on ths same day ; ran into Castie Point for shelter at noon on Saturday ; left at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday, thj 7th. When off Flat Point, encountered a heavy gale from the south ; ran back to Napier ; left again on Thursday at 2 a.m. ; arrived in Wellington at 1.20 a.m. on Friday. Left on Monday at 4 p.m. direct, and arrived at Port Chalmers to-day at no>n.

The ketch Sedcliffe arrived this forenoon with a cargo of coal from Shag Point. Captain William Thomson (harbor master) and Captain Paton (pilot staff), who left last week in this vessel, returned by her, having uccessfully laid down m-oringa at the entrance of the above port, so as to facilitate the loading and discharging of coasting vessels. We are glad to be in a position to state that the rumor circulated of the Redcliff having been ashore, was entirely unfounded ; no mishap of any kind having occurred during the trip.
