MANUKA CREEK.

At Canada Reef, the Alexandra still occupy the Table Hill Co,'s machine. This claim has now opened out nearly 200 ft. along the reef. At the east end of their claim, at the 80ft. level below where the reef ran out at the 40ft. level, they are now finding the stone over 4ft. thick in the drive. Dyer's party are sinking for a fresh level, and are now down over 75ft. As yet they have met with little water, showing that a bank of mullock or some fault or slip intervenes between them and the Ocean View Co. The latter company have met with such discouraging results on the ground left to them by Dyer's party, that they have discontinued operations for the present. Watson's party is now the only one at work prospecting the reef, and it seems unlikely that they will find stone at their present level. There is some talk of commencing work on the poition of the Ocean View reef formerly worked by the Table Hill Co., and from which such fine prospects were obtained at a trial crushing. Gillies' sluicing claim will wash-up this week, and arc confident of a good return. Mr. Spoonor, of Manuka Creek, is working a similar claim next to Gillies', and should results prove at all equal to anticipations, these claims will be a reliable source of income to the Table Hill Co., as they are dependant upon the Table Hill Co. for water.
